About Us
|
The Cleveland Sundancers is the Dance & Drill Team of Cleveland High School (Portland, Oregon). We perform at sporting events and assemblies, and have performed at half-time during Portland Trailblazer games at the Portland Rose Garden arena. The Sundancers also compete in competitions sponsored by the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA).

Our Record
|
The Sundancers have been successful at all levels of competition and are known statewide for excellence on and off the floor. We have been the Portland Interscholastic League (PIL) Dance & Drill champions 17 times, and captured the State Dance and Drill crown in 1990, 1991, 1996 and 1997. We also have a strong reputation statewide for outperforming their competition in Drill Down, which is an opportunity in this sport to demonstrate individual skills. At the State competition in 2007, two Sundancers wowed the audience for 10 minutes with their Drill Down skills. And for the first time ever, both were awarded the State Drill Down title. The Sundancers also captured the first-place Drill Down title in 2008, and won three of the top six ribbons.

Expenses
|
You are probably aware of the tremendous expenses for a team of this caliber and the inability of the Portland Public School District to support all activities. Therefore, we procur sponsorships from businesses, friends and family to help pay some of these expenses.

Sponsorship
|
The minimum fee for a business sponsorship is $50.00. Business sponsors receive advertising in the form of a certificate (that can be framed and displayed) as evidence of their community support. Throughout the year, sponsors can see our progress by going to our website. Additionally, the team hosts a sponsor show in conjunction with the Day with the Sundancer's fundraiser. This year, that event will be held December 6, 2008. We hope you will choose to sponsor the Cleveland High School Sundancers. We can assure you that you will be supporting a dynamic team with a rich history of success!
